As a Talent and Organizational Development Specialist you will lead and support strategic initiatives that strengthen Irving Oil's early talent pipeline through meaningful engagement with high school students, educators, and community partners. Your goal will be to increase awareness of career opportunities, build strong external relationships, and develop programs that support future workforce needs. Your success will be demonstrated through the effective delivery of high-impact programs, strong stakeholder partnerships, measurable outcomes, and continuous improvement of our early talent initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, enhancement, and execution of the company's high school engagement strategy, identifying opportunities to expand reach, increasing impact, and strengthen alignment with future workforce needs
  • Manage and sustain existing high school engagement programs and activities, including participation in career fairs and expos, student conferences, classroom presentations, Take Our Kids to Work Day, and student field trips
  • Collaborate with business areas and subject matter experts across the organization to create meaningful career exploration opportunities for students while fostering employee volunteer engagement
  • Design, plan, coordinate, and deliver initiatives and events that connect students and educators with career-connected learning experiences and increase awareness of career pathways, with a focus on critical-to-fill and leadership roles
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with schools, government agencies, community organizations, and other external stakeholders to develop innovative opportunities that support student and educator engagement
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret program data, metrics, and stakeholder feedback to assess effectiveness, measure impact, and inform strategic recommendations for early talent and workforce development initiatives
  • Establish and maintain continuous improvement practices that enhance program quality, operational efficiency, consistency, and measurable outcomes
  • Monitor emerging education, workforce development, and talent pipeline trends to identify opportunities for program innovation and long-term talent attraction strategies

Your Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate programs and initiatives that support educational outreach, workforce development, or talent pipeline objectives
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships both externally and internally
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate events, and deliver results within established timelines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data and stakeholder feedback to support recommendations and continuous improvement efforts
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences, including students, educators, employees, external partners, and leaders
  • Experience applying continuous improvement practices to enhance program effectiveness, efficiency, and stakeholder experience

Your Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, Communications, Organizational Development, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in talent development, talent acquisition, workforce development, early talent programs, educational outreach, community engagement, or a related field. Experience working with K-12 education systems, student engagement programs, or youth workforce development initiatives would also be considered an asset
  • Experience leading programs, events, or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, with demonstrated ability to build partnerships, manage projects, and influence outcomes

The expected salary range for this position is $66,267 - $87,804. Placement within the range will be based on relevant experience, qualifications and skills.
