Are you looking for a new role to lead a team of Pipefitters? In this role, you will be responsible for supervising a team of Pipefitters, ensuring safe work practices, supporting employee development, and managing performance fairly and consistently. It also oversees shift maintenance execution through SAP, incident investigations, risk assessments, and coordination with operations and planning to maximize productivity, reliability, and safety.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid technical diploma, Pipefitter trade certificate or degree
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Five or more years in industrial maintenance experience
  • Leadership or supervisory experience within maintenance or operations in a heavy industrial environment

Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision to a team of Pipefitters while maintaining a visible field presence to foster employee engagement, assess work process effectiveness, and ensure a strong, well-adapted approach to safety
  • Lead incident investigations and field-level risk assessments to ensure risk protocols, permitting, hazardous energy isolation, and mitigation processes are properly followed, while implementing corrective actions and developing practical solutions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Ensure the administration of the collective agreement and our personnel policies occurs in a fair and consistent manner
  • In accordance with the Suncor Maintenance process, perform all functions within the SAP computerized maintenance system to accurately detail, approve and assign the work that is performed on shift
  • Ensure that all maintenance work assigned by planning and scheduling is executed during each shift and ensure plant outage durations are minimized, by maximizing the application of resources without compromising worker safety or longer-term plant reliability
  • Interact with the operations and planning department to optimize production; establish work priorities and provide feedback to the operating groups on equipment performance, planning effectiveness and concerns

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Edmonton Refinery in Alberta, located at 801 Petroleum Way, Sherwood Park, AB
  • Hours of work are on an earned day off schedule, Monday to Friday 7:30-5:00pm with set Fridays off, and with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • This position is safety sensitive
