What We Are Looking For

The Frostbite Tech Art and Content team is a group of seasoned technical artists and content creators passionate about delivering tools, features and solutions that empower our game team partners. We work directly with our product and engineering peers in the development of the Frostbite engine.

We are looking for a technical art generalist to support content creation for training, feature validation, identify workflow improvements and manage infrastructure tools. Reporting to the Director of Content, the role will focus on your skills with animation systems, scripting solutions and knowledge of cinematic tools.

You are a technical artist or animator with experience building content solutions that help identify workflow improvement opportunities. You love helping peers solve challenging and complex production problems. You’re easy going, sensible and people enjoy working with you. You have clear thoughtful opinions built on both experience and listening to the needs of others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build examples showcasing animation and character tools with support for cinematic tools.
  • Collaborate with Technical Artists, Product Managers and Engineers on Frostbite tool development.
  • Create training materials for the Frostbite content creator community.
  • Maintain infrastructure resources for the technical art team.
  • Stay updated on game development standards to inform workflows.
  • Role is remote hybrid with flexible office/home work balance.

Required Experience

  • Understanding of animation systems, character setup, and comfortable with cinematic workflows.
  • Mid to senior level with a minimum 2+ years as a technical artist, animator, or content creator.
  • Experience with real-time game engines and DCC tools.
  • Empathy for the user-experience and building solutions that empower content creators across all Frostbite games.
  • Proficient in scripting (Python) and node-based solutions (Blueprints).
  • Understand the challenges and complexities of daily game development production

Compensation And Benefits

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) * $96,400 - $133,900 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
