Position Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position will contribute to overall sales for the Vertiv Factory Direct office that covers greater Toronto and SW Ontario. The Technical Sales Rep manages all sales activities at assigned end customer, partner, and consultant accounts. The Representative works independently, is creative, and a critical thinker. The Representative is required to solve customer problems with innovative solutions for their requirements by offering the most competitive, thorough product and pricing plan to meet the customer’s needs while exceeding sales quotas and business objectives. This role requires travel within the territory to build relationships and visit sites to propose solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand relationships with assigned end customer, partner, and consultant accounts for the promotion and sales of Vertiv products.
  • Interface with Vertiv Power, Thermal, Channel and Service Sales Reps, within the territory, to broaden Vertiv’s overall relationship with assigned accounts and to maximize Vertiv’s share of customer projects through multiple product offerings.
  • Generate sales in excess of quota for assigned accounts in a manner aligned with business objectives.
  • Contribute to sales excellence with a healthy pipeline of opportunities and maintaining forecast data regularly.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts.
  • Ensure a high caliber of customer response and satisfaction. Communicate accurately and effectively with all customers and Vertiv sales associates, culminating in an integrated team sales effort.
  • Specific duties will include but not be limited to preparing / configuring product solutions, preparing quotations, follow up, negotiations, closing deals, preparing submittals, order execution, general sales support, prospecting for new accounts, regular in-field customer visits.
  • Competency in all aspects of internal Vertiv sales and order entry functions and policies.
  • Establish competency across all Vertiv products and services.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or Technology is preferred, or a relevant diploma.
  • 5-7 years of technology or critical equipment sales experience

QUALIFICATION

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven successful experience in large account sales and account management in a similar industry - prefer business to business outside sales experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and the ability to manage multiple priorities is required along with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of critical support equipment operations for both mechanical and power products.
  • Team player with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with electrical contractors, engineers, consultants, and end-users for Data Center applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Travel Time Required

  • Out-of-town travel up to 25%
  • In town, out of office, customer visit and sales activity 50%
