TEMPORARY ELECTRICIAN

The Burnaby School District is looking to hire Temporary Electricians to work throughout the district. This position installs, maintains, repairs, and tests a variety of electrical/electronic systems and equipment to ensure the safety and operation of district buildings and facilities.

Applicants Must Have

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Electrical Trades Qualification (TQ)
  • Four years related work experience post-TQ
  • Valid B.C. Driver's License (Class 5)

Applicants Are Expected To Have

  • Thorough knowledge of construction and construction safety practices
  • Experience in reading blueprints
  • Recent BC Electrical Code training/refresher
  • The physical condition and health to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job (including climbing ladders/scaffolds, working in crawl/confined spaces, and lifting and carrying heavy materials/ objects)
  • Good interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills

Applicants Must Be

  • Knowledgeable of safety procedures and materials, methods and equipment related to electrical
  • A self-starter with an ability to organize daily tasks, work independently and as a member of a team

This position pays $42.51 per hour, complemented by a benefits package which includes dental and extended health benefits, paid sick time, vacation pay, education fund and other incentives.
