The Opportunity
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, the Unit Aide works within a team to provide a safe, clean environment for all families being served by the Family Newborn Care Unit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Monday-Friday, Weekends; 12 hour shifts; 0700-1900 or 1300-2100.

This is a Support bargaining unit position. Preference is given to bargaining unit employees for unionized positions. The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, the Unit Aide works within a team to provide a safe, clean environment for all families being served by the Family Newborn Care Unit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Cleaning and disinfecting in accordance with Infection Control guidelines
- Ensuring patient rooms are clean and tidy
- Maintaining supplies and equipment required for the unit
- Transporting defective equipment to Biomedical Engineering
- Assisting with escort and transporting of patients.
- Assisting Ward Clerks in delivering requisitions, specimens, x rays, etc.
Monday-Friday, Weekends; 12 hour shifts; 0700-1900 or 1300-2100.
Your Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous Unit Aide experience preferred.
- Good communication skills required.
- Commitment to Family Centred Care required.
- Must be able to organize and prioritize work effectively.
- Knowledge of IWK Health fire response regulations required.
- Competency in other languages considered an asset.
