The Westview Veterinary Hospital in Powell River BC is seeking an enthusiastic full-time registered veterinary technician to join our team! Our technicians work closely with the veterinarians to assist them with medicine, surgery, and diagnostics for their patients. We utilize our technicians’ skills and are seeking a motivated and compassionate technician to join our fast-paced environment. Our clinic utilizes paper light medical records with the Cornerstone veterinary software and computer skills are a must.

We are a well-established, busy, and growing small animal veterinary hospital. Our staff includes four veterinarians, two registered veterinary technicians, and multiple support staff. We are open Monday to Saturday 8:00am to 5:00pm to provide routine and emergency care.

Our hospital is AAHA certified, and we strive to provide high quality medicine and care to our patients and clients. We are equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, full in-hospital labs, endoscopy, dentistry, and surgery including orthopedics.

Primary Responsibilities Will Include

  • Surgical prep and surgical assisting
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Wound management
  • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
  • Obtaining diagnostic radiographs
  • Blood and sample collection and preparation, urinalysis, and fecal diagnostics
  • Fluid therapy
  • Care of hospitalized patients
  • Client education
