What will your typical day look like?
In this role, a typical day will involve you delivering training modules virtually for a 20 hour course on Construction Management Fundamentals to a group of Construction Management professionals in the energy industry. Specifically, this would involve:
Logging on to the MS Teams platform at 7am MST to perform technology checks 30 minutes prior to training start time;
- Delivering the training with the support of facilitators notes in a PowerPoint presentation;
- Utilizing polling technology to capture participants feedback;
- Supporting the breakout groups whiteboard activities;
- Answering construction management related questions;
- Continuously identifying areas of improvement in the training materials; and.
- Attending daily debrief meetings after the training session.
About the team
Deloitte’s Capital Projects group is seeking experienced training facilitators to join their team to deliver online virtual training on Construction Management covering topics such as project management life cycles, how to interface with SMEs, leading teams on-site, planning for construction management, scheduling, cost management, contract formation and reporting.
This is a contract-based positions to supplement the Deloitte team in the facilitation of training for our client. It is a part time position where we have an established training schedule for the entire year. Candidates will benefit from Deloitte subject matter expertise, coaching, and ongoing moderation and course maintenance support during the facilitation.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
Candidate must be experience in Construction as well possess significant experience in course facilitation (preferably in the virtual environment).
You are someone with:
A passion for adult learning and course facilitation / instruction;
- The ability to learn about online engagement tools (MS Teams, PowerPoint, Polling, Whiteboard, Breakout rooms);
- Min 5 years’ experience in Construction Management or Project Management for Capital Projects;
- A university degree or certificate in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Education is preferable;
- The ability to work well within a team environment and participate in collaborative, consultative decision-making;
- The ability to take direction and complete work within established deadlines; and
- A commitment to ethical behavior.
Note: This position is open to candidates across Canada, however the client is Calgary based and the typical work day will be from 7am – 12pm MST
