Purpose of Role: Account Managers are the key customer contact and conduit to represent, support, specify, direct, secure opportunities and sell products and services provided by the Weir organization.

The Account Manager will be responsible for effectively developing new business and increasing opportunities with accounts by developing, maintaining and managing relationships with key contacts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve or exceed budgeted input, output and EBIT objectives by account.
  • Expansion of existing products and markets and other business opportunities.
  • Trend-spotting, research and customer segmentation, competitive intelligence, competitive strategies, new product projects, managing customer demands.
  • Driving a solution mind set, with interaction with the Field Engineers, Product Managers and Engineering.
  • Technical understanding of the Weir product portfolio (design, sizes/limitations, installation, operation and maintenance principles, details/materials of construction, etc.)
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in the mining industry either in a sales or technical role required
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills both verbal and written in English
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies and present information to top management
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Microsoft (Excel / Word / PowerPoint);
