We are looking for a driven and proactive Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist to take ownership of our collections process and support overall AR functions. In this role, you will be the main point of contact for managing outstanding receivables, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining healthy cash flow. You’ll play a key role in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers while persistently following up on overdue accounts.

We are looking for a driven and proactive Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist to take ownership of our collections process and support overall AR functions. In this role, you will be the main point of contact for managing outstanding receivables, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining healthy cash flow. You’ll play a key role in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers while persistently following up on overdue accounts.
- Lead the collections process by contacting customers via phone, email, and written communication to resolve outstanding invoices
- Monitor and manage the accounts receivable aging report, identifying delinquent accounts and escalating as necessary
- Develop and implement strategies for reducing outstanding accounts.
- Maintain accurate records of collection activities, customer communications, and payment commitments
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to resolve invoice disputes or customer concerns that impact payment
- Recommend accounts for credit hold or write-offs based on aging, payment history, and communication
- Process incoming payments and apply them to customer accounts accurately
- Prepare regular reports on collection efforts, aging trends, and cash forecasts
- Assist with month-end close, account reconciliations, and AR reporting
- Long periods of time at desk dialing.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Negotiation and ability to overcome objection.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but equivalent experience and relevant skills may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
- 3+ years of experience focused on accounts receivable and collections
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with a customer-service mindset
- Comfortable handling high-volume collections with persistence and professionalism
- Experience working with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tool
