We are currently looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist at our Corporate Offices in Ajax, ON. This is classified as a hybrid role.
The VGCA Accounting Shared Services Centre provides essential back-office accounting functions for General
Ledger, Inventory, Accounts Receivable and Affiliates, Accounts Payable, and Fixed Assets for multiple VW
Group Companies including Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, Factory Production, and Electric Vehicle
Infrastructure.
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for the creation and maintenance of customer accounts, in adherence to internal control guidelines and policies. The individual must ensure timely collection of dealers and other trade receivable accounts. Monthly reconciliations and reporting are also a key aspect of the role.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for the creation and maintenance of customer accounts, in adherence to internal control guidelines and policies. The individual must ensure timely collection of dealers and other trade receivable accounts. Monthly reconciliations and reporting are also a key aspect of the role.
- Manage the creation, maintenance and verification of all customer master data, including external and internal dealers, affiliates, lease and employee accounts, and miscellaneous trade accounts
- Engage with lending institutions for Floorplans and ACH Bank information as part of customer master creation and maintenance tasks
- Process customer account blocks and unblocks as requested by other team members in a timely manner
- Manage dealer buy/ sell transactions by performing accurate balance analysis, resolving discrepancies and collaborating with Network Development teams to ensure timely account closure
- Prepare monthly reconciliation on assigned accounts; follow up and escalate any aged balance in a timely and efficient manner
- Prepare monthly flux analysis on assigned GL accounts
- Generate and manage the AR Aging report for all company codes and communicate necessary action items to other team members
- Ensure timely collections of assigned accounts
- Release monthly dealer statements in accordance with month end timelines
- Perform monthly pre-authorized debits for dealers in accordance with internal control guidelines and within set timelines for different companies (VWGoA and VGCA)
- Process monthly and year end re-class of credit balances to Accounts Payable
- Create monthly and ad hoc journal entries and submit for processing as per process guidelines
- Manage Dealer Services email inbox, reply to queries and direct them as appropriate to the relevant departments in a timely, professional and efficient manner
- Prepare Canadian cheque deposits in accordance with internal control guidelines and set timelines
- Appropriately post incoming electronic payments in SAP FI/CO and assist Collections Specialist with the accurate and timely application of cheque and wire payments
- Support audit requests as it relates to sampling requests, walk through discussions and other ad hoc auditor inquiries
- All other related duties
- Candidate must have a minimum of 2-years' experience in a professional office environment, within an accounting department
- Post Secondary Diploma in Accounting related field is required
- Bachelor's Degree is desired
- Working towards CPA designation is an asset
- Positive attitude and able to work effectively within a high-paced team
- Ability to manage and prioritize large volumes and multitask
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person, by email, and in multidisciplinary meetings
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office products, including Visio
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Ability to manage projects and drive results
