The Claims Liability Professional role is to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle Casualty claims in accordance with Aviva's procedures and philosophy. We have a strong focus on strategic indemnity and expense management, in addition to excellent customer service.

What You’ll Do:

  • Interpret and confirm insurance coverage
  • Investigate, evaluate, and settle Casualty claims with claimants or their representatives
  • Direct and manage file investigations and if required instruct IA’s or Defense Counsel as needed
  • Ensure file reserves are timely and accurate
  • Proactively manage communication with our customers and stakeholders
  • Clearly document and summarize file activity
  • Understand and support Aviva’s claim procedures and guidelines
  • Regular and proactive reviews of file strategy plans


What You’ll Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience handling Casualty claims
  • University degree or equivalent
  • CIP or working towards CIP
  • Currently licensed or qualified to be licensed to handle Casualty Claims in all Atlantic Provinces
  • Bilingual French and English is a strong asset
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment within our hybrid working environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Personal and Commercial liability claims
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Well-developed organizational skills
  • Genuine adaptability, flexibility and integrity
  • Committed team player with a positive outlook and sense of humor
