Children & Youth Program Supervisor

Non Union Position

Work Schedule

  • Sunday–Thursday (September–June), Monday–Friday (July–August).

Pay: CAD $70,000 - $74,000

Summary

The Children and Youth Program Facilitator provides leadership, operational oversight, and clinical supervision for all programs in the Child and Youth Program. This role ensures safe, inclusive, high-quality, and financially responsible services while aligning programs with community needs, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership

  • Make decisions on program continuation based on registrations, seasonal demand, resources, and strategic priorities.
  • Develop, pilot, and adapt programs to meet community needs and participation trends.
  • Analyze program outcomes, participation metrics, and feedback to implement improvements.
  • Ensure programs uphold inclusion, safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for departmental growth, resource allocation, and program innovation.

Clinical Oversight & Risk Management

  • Guide staff on behavioural strategies and managing complex participant needs.
  • Advise on inclusion/exclusion decisions, ratios, pairings, and risk management.
  • Oversee care for children with medical needs, including seizures, ensuring protocols are followed.
  • Ensure programs comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.
  • Monitor risk management procedures and proactively address potential safety or liability issues.

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise program staff.
  • Conduct staff performance evaluations and implement professional development plans.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and inclusive staff culture.
  • Ensure staff are paid accurately and on time, submit payroll variances, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Participate in staff interviews and assist HR with hiring decisions to ensure quality staff.
  • Provide training on behavioural strategies, inclusion, safety, program protocols, and operational procedures.

Financial & Operational Management

  • Oversee program budgets, monitor expenses, and report variances.
  • Purchase materials and ensure staff have access to necessary resources.
  • Coordinate program logistics, scheduling, communications, and social media.
  • Oversee program technology, registration systems, and communication platforms to ensure accessibility, efficiency, and security.

Family, Community & Stakeholder Relations

  • Serve as the primary contact for families, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Address family concerns and complaints professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate program updates, outcomes, and strategic initiatives clearly.
  • Build and maintain partnerships to enhance program offerings and community engagement.

Program Administration & Evaluation

  • Manage intake, consent, emergency contacts, and non-confidential operational records.
  • Oversee registration and application processes.
  • Lead program evaluation, integrate staff and family feedback, and recommend continuation, adaptation, or discontinuation of programs.
  • Track program metrics, participation, and outcomes for reporting to senior leadership and funders.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate degree in psychology, education, behaviour analysis, or related field is preferred-other strong candidates may be considered.
  • ABA training is an asset.
  • Extensive experience in program leadership, clinical oversight, and staff supervision.
  • Proven ability to manage high-risk community programs safely and effectively.
  • Strong financial, operational, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and strategic planning skills.
  • Experience with program evaluation, staffing decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule – Sunday–Thursday (September–June), Monday–Friday (July–August).
