You As a Civil (Ground Engineering) Coordinator Will

  • Perform calculations for geotechnical and underground structures using hand calculations and engineering software.
  • Work closely with designers, engineers, pursuit/project teams, and subcontractors to price, schedule, and execute projects.
  • Work with pursuit/project teams to develop detailed estimates for the underground scope of work and assess subcontractor bids.
  • Develop and present geotechnical solutions to clients, ensuring clarity and technical soundness.
  • Interpret and apply project requirements, industry standards, and best practices in engineering design.
  • Monitor site conditions, anticipate construction challenges, and ensure compliance.
  • within project scope.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Track project contributions and assist in task documentation to ensure clear accountability.

Is this the right role for you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or other relevant engineering degree)
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant construction engineering experience
  • Understanding of geotechnical and structural engineering principles
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SAP200 or other civil engineering software is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with clients, team members, and EllisDon’s partners
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with an independent and proactive work ethic
  • Knowledge of Canadian building codes and construction standards related to geotechnical engineering
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to coordinate multiple project tasks effectively
