Reporting to Head of New Products Launch Specialty Care, this position is responsible for end-to-end strategic commercial oversight of a new product in Neurology; the role may include other therapeutic areas in the future.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic development and implementation of plans for a new product launch in Neurology, aligning with the company overall business objectives.
  • Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle for the assigned product(s) in Neurology from pre-launch, launch, to in-market execution and commercialization. As needs evolve, this role may expand to include oversight of an in-market sales team as well as additional marketing resources.
  • Assess the value of the different markets and develop the business cases for further brand expansion under the assigned product/therapeutic area.
  • Collectively with other functions, proactively recommend and lead discussions on resources, including sales force resources, required for individual portfolio and/or cross-portfolio assignments with senior leaders.
  • In collaboration with other functions, lead successful development of all critical business processes and financial planning including, but not limited to: launch readiness planning, long range planning, forecasting, integrated brand planning, etc. Lead the successful implementation of strategic plans and oversee the successful implementation of the cross-functional teams’ strategic and operational plans.
  • Define the specific customer interaction journeys for each segment, incl. channel mix and ensuring delivery and monitoring of marketing campaigns across all relevant channels.
  • Lead the establishment and utilization of advanced/innovative marketing techniques and methodologies to drive growth for the assigned product(s).
  • Identify insights and critical success factors for the launch and in-market implementation by developing relevant engagement plans with tactics; drive implementation of the plan and monitor execution of key performance indicators.
  • In conjunction with market research, lead market research activities, work on projects that have longer term, strategic implications.
  • Manage and measure overall investments and returns. Determine and review brand metrics regularly, defining innovative opportunities to drive growth in partnership with the cross-functional team.
  • Align with Market Access & Public Affairs teams responsible for conducting payer market research and developing pricing models using competitive data and relevant analogs to recommend pricing options and strategies.
  • Partner with Market Access and GTMC Insight & Analytics teams to evaluate market trends and develop sensitivity models to maximize product access based on optimal price points.
  • Partner with global marketers and agencies to develop branded and unbranded campaigns and assets with a best-in-class omnichannel approach, underpinned by market analysis and competitive benchmarking to drive ROI.
  • Partner with and influence cross-functional stakeholders such as medical, market access, go-to-market capability (GTMC), to strategically prepare the market for upcoming launches and maximize in-market performance aligned to established KPIs.
  • Work in conjunction with global teams and align with the global marketing and launch strategies, ensuring that Canada is well represented.
  • Manage any related budgets, financial forecasts (in partnership with Finance and GTMC), and investment proposals needed.

About You

  • Commercial and Business Acumen: Strong track record in the pharma/biopharma industry driving commercial success, including both marketing & new product launches and sales management experience. Ability to work in fast paced environments and manage multiple products simultaneously.
  • Specialty Therapeutic Experience: neurology experience is a plus.
  • Relationship Management: Ability to work collaboratively, with strong organizational and operational skills. Ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Data/Insights Driven decision maker: Able to distill large amounts of data and information to find the lead story and communicate it effectively to others.
  • Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience: 7+ years of relevant healthcare or pharmaceutical industry experience with previous experience in marketing leading new product launches, as well as sales management.
  • Prior people management is required
