Position Summary
The Construction Manager is responsible for being the on-site representative and primary point of contact for subcontractors, consultants, and third parties involved in the project. The Construction Manager will work closely and collaborate with the Project Manager and oversee the execution of construction work to ensure adherence to contractual obligations related to safety, quality, schedule, and budget.

Position Summary

The Construction Manager will work closely and collaborate with the Project Manager and oversee the execution of construction work to ensure adherence to contractual obligations related to safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead daily construction execution and ensure project delivery aligns with safety, quality, schedule, and financial targets.
- Develop and maintain construction schedules and ensure weekly updates are incorporated.
- Oversees the construction planning effort and development of Installation Work Packages & Inspection Test Plans.
- Participate in the development of construction contracts and defining scopes of work.
- Directs and oversees development of subcontractor’s scope of work, sequencing, coordination, scheduling, installation, and logistics related to projects.
- Direct preplanning activities to ensure that preplans adhere to Barton Malow’s philosophies.
- Assisting the Pre-Construction team in the budgeting and scheduling process and in closing all major tendered project opportunities to ensure constructability is taken into account, and no scope gaps exist.
- Understand and oversee compliance with the EPC contract.
- Act as the main on-site representative, maintaining effective coordination and relationships with clients, business partners, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Manage on-site aspects of the project from Notice to Proceed to Operational turnover and completion of punch list items.
- Develop and drive the construction schedule in conjunction with the project team ensuring that completion dates and milestones are met.
- In Coordination with Project Team complete weekly updates are provided and incorporated in the project schedule. In addition, completion of daily field reports is an expectation.
- Monitor EPC Contractor activities daily on the project site, host Plan-of-Day meetings and maintaining awareness of contractor activity.
- Monitors self-perform and subcontractor performance including productivity tracking and/or earned value. Resolves construction conflicts, delays, and in-field issues.
- Managing employee relations and resolving of employee concerns and conflicts directly under supervision, providing direction in training of superintendents and foreman, and coordinate the hiring of field manpower.
- 10–15 years of electrical and/or civil construction experience, including 5+ years in a Construction Manager or equivalent leadership role, specifically in the automotive, industrial, and/or renewable energy industry.
- Experience in solar, renewable energy, and/or EPC project environments required; experience with substations or transmission line construction is an asset.
- Thorough understanding of construction principles, processes, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction scheduling and project management tools.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail and time management.
- Willingness to relocate or travel for the duration of assigned project(s).
- Demonstrated commitment to enforcing and modeling a strong safety culture.
- Base salary is $140,000 - $165,000 , dependent on candidate job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
