The expected salary range for this opportunity is $150,000 - $180,000. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location. Listed compensation is exclusive of bonus and in addition to our extensive employee benefits program which is listed above. Availability of certain benefits may vary based on the specific job role.

As a Construction Manager working in in the Civil & Infrastructure team at Pomerleau Construction, you will manage large-scale building and infrastructure projects, - ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion. For this specific posting, - you will have the opportunity to manage a complex construction projects while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
What You Will Do
- Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project.
- Effectively apply the requirements of the project specific safety standards to promote Pomerleau’s HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations and codes with all employees and trade partners on the project
- Use your proactive approach to determine projects materials are supplied and in compliance with our first-class Quality Program;
- Establish and identify all project on-site manpower requirements;
- Take a hands-on approach to leading, mentoring our construction team on the project; Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work, addressing any discrepancies promptly;
- Collaborate with our Client, trade partners and consultants;
- Develop and drive the construction schedules in conjunction with the project team and the trade partners ensuring that completion dates and milestones are met;
- Put your problem-solving skills to work and recommend innovative methods that will increase effectiveness and efficiency to ensure project excellence and productivity targets are met;
- Jump in right from the beginning! Collaborate with the Project Manager for all construction sites start-up details including schedule, resources, execution methodologies;
- Be a keeper of construction site inventory and work with our Logistics team to ensure accuracy;
- Be a role model during coordination meetings with our clients and associated representatives;

- Stay on top of workforce training for the site teams and ensure all training is up to date.
- 20 years’ experience in the construction industry; specializing large civil and infrastructure projects
- Experience in marine construction, including piling work and cast in place concrete
- MUST be able to obtain a Government of Canada Secret level clearance as per project contractual requirements.
- A construction related certificate, diploma or degree;
- A proven track record of project success and team collaboration;
- Strong knowledge of civil construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, quality and cost control;
- The ability to quickly identify problematic situations, identify possible causes, produce effective solutions and collaboratively lead a large construction team to successful completion.
- A passion to develop, maintain and execute the project schedule;
- Good computer skills and previous experience with scheduling and construction management software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, Procore) ;
- Knowledge of the British Columbia market. Experience, familiarity, and existing relationship with major local subcontractors and suppliers across the province would be an asset.
