How you create impact

As a Director of Air Logistics – Perishables Development with Kuehne+Nagel you will actively own growth opportunities, partnering with country and corporate stakeholders to make commercial decisions, in and outside RFQs, to win and retain business. You will support the determination of the global business strategy and work to secure its implementation.

  • Acquire, and support the acquisition of, new business, building and maintaining strategic relationships with all necessary customer stakeholders
  • Develop new customer relationships and expand relationships with the existing client base in Canada
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities
  • Align with perishables customer facing and operational teams to ensure proper execution of business, and work with perishables network in partner countries on joint opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key airlines, trucking and other 3rd party vendors that impact any perishable development
  • Participate in industry organizations to understand market trends and landscape and represent Kuehne+Nagel at industry events including tradeshows
  • Support pricing and quoting activities to ensure profitability in line with expectations and standards, including working with customers on timely payment collection
  • Provide business unit management with accurate forecasts to ensure proper staffing

What we would like you to bring

  • 5+ years of experience in Air freight in freight forwarding or Perishables industry
  • Understanding of Air Freight market conditions, customer requirements, Air Logistics procedures and regulatory and international Laws
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, training concepts, customer onboarding and implementation processes
  • Ability to travel up to 30%, domestic and international, to meet customers and attend Industry events and trade shows
  • Strong customer presentation skills, including presenting QBRs/MBRs, and MS Applications knowledge
