MAKING AN IMPACT

As Manager, Estate & Gift planning at Canadian Cancer Society, you will be:

  • Managing a portfolio of donors to achieve revenue goals for the Estate and Gift Planning Department.
  • Managing and maintaining Database.
  • Collaborating with team and enhancing Organizational Engagement.

What You’ll Be Doing

Independently solicits, secures, manages, and oversees new and existing donor accounts to achieve revenue goals for the PG Department

  • Build relationships and provide guidance on planned gifts to support future bequests and other giving options.
  • Respond promptly to leads generated through pipeline development.
  • Meet with donors and their advisors to develop giving strategies aligned with their philanthropic and financial goals.
  • Steward current planned gift donors.
  • Identify and leverage collaboration opportunities across the organization.
  • Represent the Québec region with professionalism and passion within the Canadian Cancer Society and externally.
  • Network with allied professionals in the field and attend relevant seminars.
  • Fulfill other job-related responsibilities as assigned, while exemplifying CCS’s values: accountability, caring, integrity, respect, quality, responsiveness, and teamwork.

Database management and maintenance

  • Ensure donor information, including contact details, giving history, and engagement records are accurately maintained in the CRM to support relationship management and reporting.
  • Organize and segment donor data for targeted outreach, tailoring messaging to donor interests and giving patterns.
  • Uphold CRM integrity by adhering to data collection and entry policies and procedures.

Team Collaboration and Organizational Engagement

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align planned giving data with overall fundraising efforts, ensuring consistency in messaging and donor engagement strategies.
  • Actively contribute to the National Planned Giving Team, including program development initiatives.
  • Attend Canadian Cancer Society events as required.
  • Foster a high-performance culture that leverages the unique talents and strengths of each member while encouraging their growth and development.
  • Champion CCS as a hero in the face of cancer.
  • Contribute to our culture of diversity, inclusion, belonging and equity (DIBE) by ensuring that all staff feel represented, valued, and heard across all aspects of their identity, including gender, age, religion, ethnicity, nationality, race, and sexuality.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline is required.
  • CFRE and/or MFP-A Designation is an asset
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is required due to the organization’s nationwide operations and the need for effective communication across various regions.
  • Minimum of 5 years of fundraising experience, including researching, soliciting, and closing planned gifts.
  • Proven expertise in Estate and Gift Planning with a strong understanding of planned giving vehicles and their tax implications (e.g., bequests, annuities, trusts, securities, life insurance).
  • Knowledge of charitable gift tax regulations, new legislation, and relevant revenue rulings.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to present, explain, and discuss complex information effectively.
  • Active listening, empathy, integrity, and honesty in donor interactions.
  • Strong execution skills with a donor-focused approach and work ethic.
  • Collaborative mindset, fostering openness and productive dialogue.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively.
  • Strong analytical ability to assess and prioritize key issues.
  • Ability to proactively address opportunities with a strategic approach.
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of Salesforce.
  • Willingness to travel within Quebec
