Job Purpose

The Cytotechnologist 3 is responsible for performing routine and specialized clinical and technical work for a specific area or areas. This position may include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • A graduate of a school of Medical Cytotechnology.
  • Must be registered with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science and licensed and in good standing (a practicing member) with the New Brunswick Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists.
  • Must have three years experience
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record.

Key Responsibilities

The Cytotechnologist 3 is responsible for:

  • Performing routine and specialized procedures and/or supervising this work
  • Providing clinical consultations and guidance
  • Training and providing support to staff
  • Monitoring quality control and troubleshooting problems
  • Developing, evaluating and implementing procedures and equipment
  • Developing and monitoring maintenance programs
  • Managing inventory
