Salary range for the position is $90,770 to $130,481. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How Will You Create An Impact

The Lead, Medical Staff Retention & Experience (Lead) role is responsible for leading the development, coordination and evaluation of multipronged medical staff retention initiatives to facilitate the achievement of the strategic goals and objectives of Interior Health (IH). The Lead will be responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of projects and initiatives to build medical staff and operational capacity in support of medical staff retention within Interior Health. The Lead reports to the Manager, Medical Staff Retention & Experience and proactively leads projects to resolve issues; improve processes; and integrate systems that support the efficient and effective medical staff retention initiatives. Works across the Medicine portfolio and with key partners to create a welcoming process to support a medical staff member’s life cycle, including support for key lifecycle moments to maintain and ensure overall positive experience.

What Will You Work On

  • Develops, implements, and monitors programs and standards to support Interior Health medical staff retention strategies; evaluates and effects changes as needed to improve services, simplify workflow, and assure compliance with operational and system requirements.
  • Provides timely, reliable data analysis and information to support planning and decision-making, such as preparing briefing notes, reports, and presentations on assigned topics.
  • Reviews planning and evaluation documents and provides appropriate information and feedback on planning documents.
  • Engages with cross-portfolio partners to support information system projects including managing project timelines, facilitating change management strategies, defining tasks, identifying project needs, and reporting on project status.
  • Develops reporting systems, including triaging and tracking systems to ensure goals and objectives are met.
  • Develops essential project documents (charters, schedules, product specifications, etc.) and comprehensive project plans on behalf of the project sponsor and with input from key partners.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external partners to support assigned projects and advance retention goals, including participation in steering and working groups.
  • Completes research, reviews leading practice, and develops frameworks, systems or processes to measure and improve retention initiatives.
  • Monitors progress and prepares reports on key retention strategies and initiatives.
  • Manages projects and initiatives effectively within a multidisciplinary and complex environment using proven project management principles and methods.
  • Responsible for ongoing continuous evaluation of mentoring programs for managers and services, including ensuring projects/programs are data driven, evidence-informed, and outcome focused. Maintains expert knowledge related to the methods and tools of continuous quality improvement and applies these approaches to areas of improvement within their respective portfolio.
  • Reviews data and analytics to inform enhancement of retention initiatives.
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements. Immediately report unsafe situations by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel.
  • In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
