Who You Are:

We are currently seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our team. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with deep expertise in litigation and a strong ability to work independently. Your responsibilities extend beyond traditional litigation support and require a high degree of attention to detail, organization, communication, and legal acumen.  You excel in fast-paced environments, have a solutions-focused mindset, and value collaboration. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional legal support to our clients, managing essential tasks such as drafting correspondence, preparing legal documents, and effectively handling client communications. Your experience and proactive approach will contribute significantly to our mission of providing top-tier legal service.


Legal Support & File Management


  • Drafts complex legal documents and precedents with minimal supervision.
  • Prepares for trial, mediation, and applications, including assembling trial records, drafting document agreements, and coordinating witnesses.
  • Gathers information and research issues relating to area of specialty.
  • Ability to draft preliminary correspondence and legal documents with general instructions.
  • Capable of initiating documentation and correspondence on files.
  • Drafts and serves Notices to Admit, Affidavits, Bills of Costs, Case Summary Proposals, and Application Records.
  • Handles preparation and service of Lists of Documents, Disbursements, and expert reports.


Client Service & Communication


  • Acts as a key point of contact for clients, providing high-level, professional communication.
  • Schedules and coordinates meetings, court appearances, and discoveries.
  • Manages intake and reminders for clients and maintains positive working relationships with clients, counsel, court personnel, and other stakeholders.


Team Collaboration & Leadership


  • Coaches, trains, and mentors Legal Administrative Assistants and Articling Students on legal procedures and firm standards.
  • Demonstrates leadership through goal-setting, meeting performance targets, and upholding ethical and professional standards.
  • Collaborates effectively within the team and across all departments to maintain a supportive and efficient work environment.
  • Demonstrates a consistently positive, flexible, and dependable attitude, with a proactive approach to challenges and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Actively engages in team and firm initiatives to support a collaborative, inclusive, and cohesive work environment.
  • Supports the team with vacation coverage as needed.


Administrative Duties


  • Manages lawyers’ calendars, deadlines, and bring-forward systems.
  • Handles file organization, document production, cheque deposits, invoice payments, mail distribution, and scanning.
  • Prepares, edits, proofreads, and files legal documents, and correspondence.
  • Tracks and records billable time on files.


Qualifications & Skills


  • Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Paralegal, including 5+ years in a related practice area.
  • Completion of an accredited Paralegal Certification or Diploma program is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of procedural law and legal documentation, including e-filing and relevant court rules and regulations.
  • Strong drafting ability and independent judgment in legal document preparation.
  • Proven track record of billable time recovery and strong attention to deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and legal practice software. Experience with FileVine is an asset. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional, empathetic, and client focused.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential information.
  • Positive, proactive team player with a collaborative and solutions-focused mindset.
