Position Overview
As a Mitigation Technician you will play a vital role in emergency response ; helping clients recover quickly while meeting insurance requirements. You’ll respond to water and emergency situations, applying IICRC S-500 restoration techniques for cleaning, structural drying, and water remediation. Work independently or with a team in residential and commercial settings to deliver fast, high-quality results that exceed client expectations.

Position Overview
As a Mitigation Technician you will play a vital role in emergency response ; helping clients recover quickly while meeting insurance requirements. You’ll respond to water and emergency situations, applying IICRC S-500 restoration techniques for cleaning, structural drying, and water remediation. Work independently or with a team in residential and commercial settings to deliver fast, high-quality results that exceed client expectations.
What You’ll Do
- Perform cleaning and restoration services at customer sites and in the warehouse, including disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, and restoring structures, personal property, and specialized items.
- Conduct moisture mapping, water extraction, mold remediation, cleaning of affected surfaces, and demolition/removal of building materials in compliance with IICRC guidelines.
- Photograph and document all restoration work throughout the project.
- Maintain vehicles, restock supplies, ensure equipment functionality, and keep work areas clean and organized.
- Ensure a safe and compliant work environment by conducting hazard assessments, maintaining organized and hazard-free job sites, properly using and storing tools, equipment, and PPE, reporting unsafe conditions, and participating in safety training and inspections.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through professional, timely communication and strong relationship-building with clients, subcontractors, insurance adjustors, and other stakeholders.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
- Solid understanding of customer service principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safeguarding property and information.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with BELFOR’s Auto Policy.
- 1+ years of hands-on experience in HVAC, construction, restoration, or other skilled trades.
- Experience in the construction, restoration, or insurance industry.
- IICRC certification(s).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
- Familiarity with restoration practices and safety protocols.
- Training on BELFOR’s processes, procedures, systems, and equipment.
- IICRC certification(s) and other BELFOR-sponsored courses as required.
- Ongoing professional development through educational opportunities and skills enhancement to stay current with industry best practices.
