Position

Objective

Operate the block extruder and wrapper according to established procedures. Meet all HACCP, ISO, GMP, SAFETY operational standards.

Key Result Areas

Performance Standards:

Quality

  • Set up and operate block extruder and block wrapper according to established procedures.
  • Perform spot weight checks on blocks as they are wrapped and adjust to meet specifications.
  • Change paper on wrapping machine.
  • Maintain a clean RVF, C&W, staging area and warehouse to meet GMP, HCCP and SQF standards.

Reporting

  • Report/document any malfunctions and downtime to the production supervisor.

Human Resources

  • Comply with corporate HR policies and procedures.
  • Comply with Union Contract policy and procedures.
  • Comply with relevant employment laws.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures

Other

  • Focused on continuous improvement
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

A COMBINATION OF THE LISTED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • If required, the ability to operate specific computer software and related hardware utilized in packaging equipment.
  • Experience in food processing.

  • Occasional overtime and or occasional weekend shifts may be required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee could be occasionally put at risk of exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and electrical shock. The employee must have WHIMIS training and take responsibility for her/his environment. All safety concerns must be reported to a supervisor. The employee must follow all GMP, HACCP, SQF, employment and safety rules.
