The Role
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to perform quality verification tests on our various public safety products, in accordance with the priorities and schedules defined by the Product Manager. Test functional web-based/cloud services and applications. Each project team will be comprised of QA, Developers, Support staff, and a Project Manager who will closely deliver our solutions to our agency clients.

The Role
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to perform quality verification tests on our various public safety products, in accordance with the priorities and schedules defined by the Product Manager. Test functional web-based/cloud services and applications. Each project team will be comprised of QA, Developers, Support staff, and a Project Manager who will closely deliver our solutions to our agency clients.
What You'll Do
- Manually test development tasks created by the development and support teams
- Enthusiastically participate in team discussions, collaborate on problem-solving, and engage in an interactive and dynamic environment
- Develop test plans, design, and formalize test scenarios
- Keep knowledge updated on our software's latest features
- Coordinate with the team as needed on new features and replication of customer-reported defects
- Bring your technical expertise to analyze incidents raised by customers or management
- Accurately identify and communicate defects and systems enhancement requests to the development teams
- Install and validate application packages
- Collaborate with developers, product managers and other QA-assigned personnel
- Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
- Degree in computer science, a diploma in computer programming, or other equivalent education
- Over 1 year of professional work experience in the testing field
- Experience with querying using SQL and a variety of Relational DBs
- Familiarity with Linux is an Asset
- Experience testing in a .Net environment is an asset
- Experience in API testing is an asset
- Knowledge of JIRA is an asset
- You should have experience manually testing desktop and web-based applications.
- You're meticulous and driven.
- You're comfortable writing test cases.
- You're effective at prioritizing workload, balancing demands from multiple projects and ongoing prioritization of goals and objectives, as well as skilled at problem solving and expectation management.
- You're a naturally curious individual who does not hesitate to ask questions.
- Ultimately, you understand the importance of undertaking, seemingly, repetitive tasks in an attempt to locate issues with the solutions and enjoy working alongside a dynamic team to resolve them.
