RVT, Team Lead - Multiservice

Western Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre, a member of VCA Canada, is currently recruiting for a full time multiservice Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our always growing facility. This role will require you to oversee a team of 10+ RVT's and you will report to the Assistant and General Managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Scheduling
• Payroll
• Training, mentorship and development
• Ongoing support of team members.
• Other responsibilities include: triaging, ICU treatments, starting client appointments, collection and running or submitting of blood samples, radiographs, as well as maintaining timely and accurate patient records.
  
  

Qualifications For Ideal Candidate

• Excellent interpersonal skills and be compassionate with the ability to adapt to the needs of the clients within the various services.
• Proven leadership skills and the desire to grow.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work well within a highly functioning team.
• This person will be self-motivated to keep busy when not assigned to a specific department and expected to work in the ER when required. Anesthesia will be a large portion of the position, along with performing advanced technical skills (ie CRI’s, epidurals, and mechanical ventilators).
  
  

Schedule

The schedule for this position will be a combination of 4 x10.5 hour shifts and 5 x 8.5 hour shifts over the Monday-Friday period. Applicants must be a registered RVT with experience in the veterinary field and be eligible for registration with AAAHT in Alberta.
