Position Overview
The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, developing and publishing social media content in a manner that supports the association and its communications objectives, across all social channels. Beyond that, they’ll handle optimization, content creation, and ad delivery for both scheduled and timely social media updates. This is someone creative, who enjoys testing new content, collaborating with a team, learning about real estate in Canada, is great with witty copywriting, might be chronically online, or all of the above.

This position is responsible for writing, planning, organizing, reporting and contributing to social interactions in order to achieve objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain CREA’s social media accounts, including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Develop and execute social media strategies that support association objectives, increase brand visibility, and drive engagement.
- Create, curate, and publish engaging social media content, including copy, images, videos, and infographics.
- Monitor social media channels, industry trends, and relevant conversations to identify opportunities for timely and impactful content.
- Engage daily with members and online communities by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Use available social media monitoring and listening tools to gather insights and make informed recommendations.
- Conduct regular social media audits and analyze performance metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Report on role-related KPIs and internal benchmarks.
- Implement social media advertising campaigns, including targeting, budget allocation, ad creation, and performance tracking.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Marketing, Advocacy, and Learning & Development, to align social media efforts with broader organizational goals.
- Assist in the development of new and engaging content that promotes REALTOR value and provides relevant information to REALTORS.
- Foster engagement and collaboration with real estate boards and associations to strengthen CREA’s relationships.
- Stay current on social media trends, tools, best practices, industry news, and competitor activity to support ongoing innovation and recommendations.
- Periodically attend events in person to provide live social media coverage and capture future content opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with CREA’s social media strategy, standards, and guidelines.
- Support special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant diploma is required.
- Proven experience as a Social Media Coordinator or in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience with scheduled publishing, optimization, copywriting, and user engagement.
- In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms, including their features and best practices for organic and paid content.
- Proficiency in social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Google Analytics).
- Ability to interpret social media analytics and derive actionable insights to optimize performance.
- Familiarity with social media advertising platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling content tailored to different platforms and audiences.
- Creative and conceptual thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and contribute to engaging social media campaigns.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a consistent brand voice and image across all social media channels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proactive and highly motivated self-starter with a results-oriented mindset.
- Media-savvy, with a keen eye for aesthetics and social trends.
- Professional experience in social media or digital marketing.
- Basic graphic design and video editing skills.
- Bilingualism (English and French).
