We are looking for a Software Developer to join our API Delivery team to help create, manage, and deploy API solutions which are pivotal to building modern digital assets.

This position requires Reliability Status security clearance. This is a personnel security status that is required before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website

What you will do:

  • Deliver code that adheres to design specifications to meet both functional as well as non-functional engineering requirements
  • Deliver clean and efficient code, ensuring quality and accuracy of components
  • Test and deploy software products and fix defects
  • Adapt to organizational change, best practice and improvements across teams, including the effective implementation and adherence to software development processes and practices
  • Facilitate and actively participate in meetings, walkthroughs, and reviews of software development deliverables
  • Deliver fixes and improvements to existing software products, maintain environments and versions while adhering to team standards
  • Ensure technical responsibility over assigned software products and codebases
  • Conduct system support and change management activities
  • Contribute to design documentation and technical specifications
  • Test and deploy software products and fix defects
  • Share knowledge and experience with members of the team to improve ways of doing things

Specific tools/skillsets:  API, microservices, and event-based software development with proficiency in technologies such as:

  • Java and SQL programming languages
  • REST-based services
  • Spring Boot framework
  • Apigee or equivalent API Gateway platform
  • Confluent Kafka eventing platform
  • Docker, Istio, Rancher, or Kubernetes container hosting platforms
  • AWS Cloud

Qualifications:

  • University or College education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Interest in or active pursuit of related industry certifications are considered an asset
  • Software development experience within a team environment
  • Proficient experience with:
    • Database systems and data access methods


    • Source code management and build automation systems


    • Test-driven development and test frameworks


    • Working with production/application support during a critical incident
The base salary for this position is between $58,600.00 - $107,500.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
