Responsibilities

  • Manage treasury’s investment/deposit analytics and drive balance growth by maximizing the economics while taking into consideration CIBCM’s regulatory constraints.
  • Deliver informative business commentary and compensation pricing options of client deposits to the senior leadership team and other key stakeholders, highlighting overall client profitability, opportunities for deposit repricing, key impact analysis while flagging potential risk with sensitivity analysis for additional perspective where appropriate.
  • Present key insights and financial narrative to senior leadership team on client deposit profiles by delivering dashboards, large client analysis, trend & scenario analysis and forward-looking projections/estimates.
  • Oversee the enhancements of client FTP allocation methodology as well as updates to client deposit duration modelling
  • Support daily, monthly and quarterly reporting of business results to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Work closely with Director, Reporting & Analytics on new treasury product development by working closely with both parents, CIBC and BNY stakeholders.
  • Lead automation of deliverables via PowerBI by increasing productivity, efficiency and accuracy and ensuring minimal time is spent on repetitive tasks.
  • Acts as a backup on all OSFI (liquidity related) enquiries and filing including LCR and NCCF, which is also reported and presented in ALCO
  • Implement, maintain and enhance management reporting formats, controls and processes, in consideration of internal, regulatory and compliance requirements (i.e. Shareholders, Board, OSFI, etc.)

Qualifications

Specific Knowledge & Skills

  • Undergraduate business or mathematics degree; CFA, CPA or MBA designation
  • 5+ years of progressive working experience preferably in treasury and/or financial services
  • 3+ years of working experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI
  • Knowledge of capital markets, institutional investors and deposit products an asset
  • Strong prioritization, analytical, presentation, project management and planning skills.
  • Refined communication skills essential with peers, internal partners and management.
  • Ability to effectively synthesize large amounts of ambiguous/un-structured data to provide value add analysis, reporting and support strategy development, monitoring and refinements.
  • Skilled in creating insightful management reports and presentations for senior executives and board of directors.
