As the Strategic Workforce Planning Manager, you will collaborate closely with business leaders and HR partners to develop and implement workforce planning strategies that align with the organization’s long-term goals. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the company has the right talent, in the right place, at the right time by leveraging data-driven insights and forecasting workforce needs. You will lead initiatives that enhance workforce agility, optimize talent pipelines, and support business growth through proactive planning and strategic decision-making.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE :
- Design, lead, and implement a comprehensive workforce planning framework, ensuring the monitoring and reporting of key initiatives and their timely execution.
- Analyze and predict upcoming staffing needs, addressing essential questions regarding role types, quantities, locations, and timing to align with business growth and objectives.
- Develop a deep understanding of the organization’s strategy, financial structure, operational dynamics, performance metrics, and the relationships between corporate outcomes and business performance.
- Build and nurture strategic relationships with key stakeholders across various business functions, based on trust and a thorough understanding of their operational priorities and challenges.
- Partner with leadership to assess the impact of corporate strategies, conducting comprehensive risk evaluations related to workforce acquisition, development, and retention.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create long-term workforce strategies that integrate talent acquisition, development, and retention efforts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Track progress against workforce plans, identifying discrepancies between projected and actual outcomes, and report regularly on key performance indicators (KPIs), including diversity and inclusion measures.
- Advocate for and implement state-of-the-art tools and methodologies to optimize both strategic and tactical workforce planning initiatives.
- Research and monitor evolving industry trends and labor market shifts, maintaining relationships with relevant external experts and stakeholders to stay abreast of emerging opportunities.
- Lead initiatives to raise the organization’s awareness of workforce planning issues and the critical role it plays in driving long-term success.
- Set clear team objectives, streamline operational processes, ensure optimal service delivery, and manage the team’s budget and performance to meet key targets and goals.
- Degree in business, economics, statistics, consulting, finance, or a related field. Professional HR designation and workforce planning certification are a plus.*
- At least five years of experience in leading and implementing workforce planning programs, including three or more years in managing teams, ideally within government and unionized environments.*
- Expertise in strategic workforce planning, recruitment approaches, and skills assessments, with a deep understanding of their application within the role’s scope.
- Strong financial insight to effectively evaluate the implications of staffing decisions and business transformations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proven track record of tackling challenges and identifying potential opportunities within complex settings.
- Ability to develop strong professional relationships and influence decisions at various leadership levels.
- Competence in making sound decisions and resolving issues effectively.
- Preference for candidates with experience in large-scale organizations, particularly within the insurance sector.
- Different combinations of relevant experience and education may be considered.
