The Role
As a Carrier Procurement Specialist, you will source, negotiate, and secure carriers to move available freight in a timely and cost-effective manner. You’ll also work on projects related to handling pricing and capacity for specialized moves. On our team, you’ll have the support to excel at work and the opportunity to build a rewarding career.
The is a fully in-office position, based in Burnaby and very accessible by transit.
Compensation range for this role: $55,000 + Commission
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Cultivate strong core carrier relationships while negotiating and securing carriers to move freight
- Maintain continuous communication with carriers and customers to ensure a high-quality freight movement process
- Ensure all parties are informed of route changes, delays, freight concerns or other issues as necessary
- Schedule pickup and delivery appointment times; use discretion and insight when considering all factors affecting timeframe, including weather, traffic, etc.
- Follow established procedures and protocols regarding HVS and HRC loads to ensure the integrity of the shipment and the brand
- Accurately maintain and update information in the company’s operating systems
- Conduct research in available databases for potential leads; make cold calls to prospects
- Track back-end billing and invoicing to ensure that carrier charges are accurate

Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience in transportation or logistics
- Experience coordinating over-dimensional or heavy-haul loads
- A background in sales, account management, or customer service
- Proven success negotiating rates, timelines, or customer solutions
The Details
- Location: Full-time onsite in Burnaby. Accessible by transit.
- Hours: Start time between 5am-7am
- Interview Process: Three rounds, including at least one onsite interview.
- Compensation: $55,000, plus commission.
