Our Enterprise Architecture is aligned to the Gore Guidewire implementation and surrounding ecosystem, and will be primary point of contact for significant functional changes on the platform. As part of the Enablement function, this role provides thought leadership within the technology and business teams for the Guidewire Insurancesuite and wider ecosystem in assessing new initiatives and in identifying new opportunities.
This role will work directly with senior business leaders in Personal and Commercial Lines, and departments across the organization to translate their strategic project requirements into well-formed project scope and deliverables that are aligned with our architecture future state. Provides Guidewire and Insurance insight within the technology team for Guidewire suite, in particularly on governance of change as it relates to Guidewire.

What will you do?
Business Architecture owner for the Gore Guidewire implementation
- Understand business processes in Guidewire and use that knowledge to identify scope for improvement.
- Partner with business teams in defining capability roadmaps for lines of business to achieve this future state.
- As part of the Enablement function, provides thought leadership within the technology and business teams identify areas for innovation within the ecosystem based on understanding of our business and processes and the opportunities available in the Guidewire ecosystem.
- Understand the strategic requirements and overall direction of the business
- Align the leadership across lines of business to a consistent architecture that is based on our architectural principles and ensures we are building sustainable solutions
- A pillar of the Enablement function, which ensures we are landing on optimal solutions that consider existing and future capabilities and how they can be leveraged to create optimal solutions from both business and IT perspectives.
- From developers through to senior technology leaders, this person is a trusted advisor and stakeholder in decision making for the Guidewire suite
- As we complete through the Guidewire Cloud migration project, this is a pivotal resource in understanding the potential of the new platform.
- Define capability roadmaps for lines of business to achieve this future state.
- Collaborate across architectural domains to drive consensus on business and technology solutions
- Provide feedback into Architecture principles and target state where alignment cannot be reached based on status quo.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in Architecture, Technology Engineering, Software Development or Business Analysis.
- 3+ years of experience as Business Architect.
- Deep understanding of P&C Insurance in Canada, across Commercial and Personal Lines.
- Deep understanding of the Guidewire InsuranceSuite and Guidewire Cloud roadmap.
- Background in Business Analysis for Guidewire.
- Guidewire technical certification is an advantage.
- In depth understanding of at least two of the following competencies: microservices governance, DevOps, Agile architecture, data analytics and TOGAF
- Excellent analytical and communication skills. The successful candidate would communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, adapting their style based on target audience.
