Contract type: Full time
Are you an experienced HR professional looking to take ownership of human resources across a growing, multi-site organization? We're hiring a Human Resources Specialist who thrives in a dynamic environment, excels at relationship-building, and brings expertise in labour relations, employee support, and policy compliance.

Reporting to senior leadership and working alongside external HR partners, you’ll provide hands-on support to employees and managers—ensuring alignment, consistency, and a positive workplace culture. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact across all areas of HR.

What You’ll Do

As the central point of contact for all HR matters, you’ll:

  • Coordinate job postings, screen applicants, schedule interviews, and issue offer letters. Facilitate a smooth onboarding process using Breezy HR and BrightHR systems.
  • Administer group benefit programs, answer employee inquiries, and coordinate annual renewals and enrollments. Maintain accurate employee data across HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Oversee UAttend and Bright Timeclock, track attendance, handle discrepancies, and manage employee leave documentation in accordance with policy and legislation.
  • Schedule probationary reviews and annual performance evaluations, collaborate with external consultants on complex employee relations issues, and ensure timely feedback and documentation.
  • Communicate policies clearly, ensure staff acknowledgment, and interpret employment legislation across Ontario, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. Maintain compliance with ESA, WCB, WSIB, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct exit interviews, collect company assets, and prepare necessary termination documentation with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Assign and track employee learning plans and ensure completion of required certifications and compliance training.
  • Partner with senior leadership to coordinate incident reports and WCB/WSIB claims, support safety initiatives, and maintain documentation.
  • Travel regularly to operational sites in Saskatoon and Calgary to provide consistent, in-person HR support, resolve issues, and foster team engagement.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on employee relations and policy compliance
  • Familiarity with tools like Breezy HR, BrightHR, UAttend, and Business Central
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian employment standards, particularly in Ontario, Alberta, and Saskatchewan
  • CHRP designation (or in progress) preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between operational sites
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing tasks and supporting others
